Travel is some thing i Know a Little about. I have Driven over 1.8 million miles in just a CMV. And as Far as in a 4 wheeler. I know damn well ive driven well over 300 000 . So sitting on my ASS While being behind the wheel, And Traveling All Across the Lower 48 states.
Now folks i always had a place to bed down at nite. My semi Bunk. Now your gonna say well thats not traveling. Folks im here to disagree with that statement. YES IT IS.
The Few
The Few is like it says, iT is the few states that i haven’t been in. I had a Shot Glass Collection of All the States. Thru my illustrious Trucking Carrer.
Now most of these States were located up across the top of the US along the Canadian Border. And 1 or 2 on the East Coast.
Now their is one State i have been in. That would be North Dakota. Been their twice. Now they still get snow and bad weather unlike us down in Ohio. But Back then . Hell yes, Snow Drifts as high as the damnn telephone pulls. Not fun
Like i said . I have been their twice, the second time it was early summer. Absolute beauty . Flat as the Earth, LOL.. For ME their a little tale to tell about the 2 times ive been in North Dakota. Like i said. The first time it was winter. We traveled up through The Windy City, Chi Town, Or MY Favorite. HELL. So up through Chicago we go till we get up to the 90 split and head out toward O Hara Airport. Now it was dark. Dad was getting tired. I looked older than i was, and i didnt have my Driver;s License either. But I knew how to Drive a Semi. We were empty , but really that makes it worse sometime;s. North Dakot adoesnt count as a state ive been in before. I wasnt their in my own truck.
EYE STRAIN
Anyhow up and past O Hara we go. And im Driving. The first time in Chi Town Driving was with My Dad. Well any how . The snow was coming down pretty hard and the Wind was blowing it side ways, Couldnt see shit. Being Vervous as hell, but i wasnt turn down a chance to drive. Didnt care where we were at. Me driving however didnt last very long. When your Driving in Winter Weather Conditions like that Makes you tired in the Eyes RITE QUIK.
The next day we finally arrived late in Fargo. We were going to load out a Brand New Steiger Tractor. Probably either a Bearcat or a Cougar. But myb first time at the Steiger Facility
Number 2 in ND
Now this happened later that year , this would have been back in the Early 1980’s. Late Spring Early Summer. Heading to Fargo again. Now this time, Beautiful sunny day. Again im driving Broad Day light . Boggieing across interstate 94. Nice day. Back then mostv semis didnt have Cruise Control. So it all by the foot. I didnt have a care in the World. I look in my Mirror. What do i see, a flippen Smokie out in the Hammer Lane. Im thinking SHIT . Dad was in the bunk resting, i said out to him, Uh might have a problem????. What, and about that time he blew muy doors off. Never Mind he’s gone.
Across this Great Nation.
I have been to California 1 time. Got to go up Donners Pass. Summer time, No chains. That was pretty cool to see this Grossly Iconic Area. Had an LTL load on and uloaded all around Sacramento. I left Home on Monday Morning. Loaded out of South Bend, Indiana, I had actually loaded a piece the Friday Before. After loading in South Bend. I would Fianl out loading in Greley Colorado. I made it to my First to drops by Thursday. This Was also the Very First time I had been in a CASINO, IT was at a Truck Stop. NICE.
East Coast
The East Coast is The Lat place i would want o drive inj. But just for Chance to see all of the Beauty of Up State New York, and thru the hills of Pennsylvania. Now wher is had traveled in Connecticut and Massachutes and Rhode Island. Not my Cup of Tea. But im sure that once you get to the coast. Very Beautiful.
I would have loved to and still do some day, I want to go to Maine. Trees out the wazoo. But then i can say ive seen all the East Coast.
The East Coast I will say. When Driving are thee rudest people ive ever seen. Now from Virginia North. The southern and more towards the West arent so bad. But around the City ALL ASS HATS

BIG CITIES
I really dont care. But when your AROUND ANY LARGE CITY. Drivers are all Ass Hats Of the Cities that are on my i could care less if i ever went through again
- Chicago ( hell ) You dont get off the beatn path in Chi Town. To Many low bridges. Also all your better options for navigating around the city are all Toll Roads. Better have at least a C note.
- Pittsburg (SHITSBURG ). Oitts burg, unless your Familiar with the area. On the outer Belts. You will lose your sense of Direction so Easly. All the Majior highways run along the Rivers. Remember 3 Rivers Stadium is Downtown,
- AND Pittsburg is a very Old town. And with eery thing being close to any river. It hard to do major improvments. When this city was built . It was at the Begging of Steel being Heavly Produced in this Area. Now back in the Early 1900;s. Whne these Artories of Road and the brides being Constructed. Wll 1 they were designed to handle the vloume of traffic today, and when your looking for a road sign on these low bridges, You have a split second to read it. They are slanted above you on the Bridge Gurtters
- Atlanta Georgia. I think has to be thee most F Up town to get around i think ive ever been in. Took me and anothe rguy 8N Hours to get around for the bottom side at 75 then around 285 and then back to 75. No shit and it SUCKED
